HOSPITALITY BY TRADITION AND BELIEFS
The Salzberg looks back on a long tradition of guests coming and going and there was always a lot of activity. Whether it is due to the wonderful nature of the Salzkammergut, the wonderful mountain panorama all around the house, the wonderful cuisine of our region or the warm hospitality, we do not know exactly. But people from all over the world have always been happy to come to us, some only briefly, others longer and some over and over again.
House Thomanek was built in the mid-1960s and operated as a bed and breakfast until the early 1980s.
From 1981 to 2018 the house served as an apartment for all family members. Even during this period, guests were always warmly welcomed. Kurt and Herta Thomanek lived in the house until their deaths in 2014 and 2018 respectively.
Planning for Das Salzberg began in 2019. The generous conversion to Das Salzberg with three luxury apartments for up to eight guests took place from November 2019 to December 2020.
